SCENE 1
OSCAR THE GROUCH informs the MUDman that he doesn’t need any mud today because he just received some as a present in the mail from his cousin "Messy" Minerva. The MUDman is disappointed as OSCAR is one of his favorite customers, but he moves along to find business elsewhere.

The MUDman approaches Tom in arbor to interest him in his wares. Tom doesn’t think he has a need for any MUD until he realizes the flowers he’s planting need a combination of water & dirt to grow. On second thought, Tom decides he’s going to need 2 quarts of MUD after all.

After the lesson, Oscar begins planting more grass when he’s approached by Tom who’s asks what he’s doing. "What am I doing? What does it look like I’m doing? I’m trying to get a glass of milk!"
