SCENE 1
OSCAR & GRUNDGETTA prepare to watch The Amazing Mumford perform a GROUCH magic trick he learned from the Great TRASHerini. Gordon assists in the trick, as Mumford changes lovely-looking shapes into GROUCHY ones. His attempt at changing a circle seem to fail, until they see the trick has made Gordon a GROUCH instead! Mumford heads to the library to find something to reverse the trick, while OSCAR & GRUNDGETTA get acquainted with the new Gordon.

Susan can’t stand dealing with the GROUCH Gordon & goes to check on Mumford. Just after, Brian drops off a bag of TRASH, which Gordon stakes a claim on, to OSCAR’s frustration. He begins to rummage through it & finds some discarded letter M's (a favorite letter to GROUCHES). GRUNDGETTA, becoming attracted to this new Gordon, joins in as they dig through the bag, while OSCAR runs off in a huff.
